Bertil Olsson was born in 1958 in Lulea, a small town close to the Arctic Circle, in Sweden. He mainly grew up in Vasteras in the center of the country. Vasteras was known for its steel industry and was also a strong hold of Sweden’s Social Democratic party. Bertil received his officer’s commission from the Royal Swedish Naval Academy in 1979 and later went on to law school in Lund, Sweden. In 1989 he left Sweden and moved to Houston, Texas where he now resides with his wife and four children. Bertil has spent his career within the insurance and risk management industry. Outside of work, he enjoys family life, boating, golf, skiing, fly fishing, reading and traveling.
