George H. W. Bush

George H. W. Bush

It has taken twenty-five years, but the flower on George H W Bush’s one term in office is finally beginning to bloom. A true statesman, George Bush (41) was perhaps the best prepared President in American history. His calm management and leadership during the disintegration of the Soviet Union stands as one of the finest moments in the history of US diplomacy.

George W, Bush

George W. Bush

His eight years in office were often tumultuous, but never boring! Our 43rd President was never guided by polls or popularity contests. He did what he thought was right for the United States. There were many who disagreed with him and remain opposed to his decisions to this day. History has yet to render a verdict on President Bush’s vision for a free, democratic Middle East. This much we do know; we will rarely see such raw optimism in the human spirit exhibited by an American President as we saw demonstrated by George W Bush.

Sir Winston Churchill

Sir Winston Churchill

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its very inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”…”I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket, and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”

Margaret Thatcher

“Pennies do not fall from heaven. They have to be made here on earth.”

“I shall never surrender or retreat…I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country.”

General Sam Houston

“Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may.”

Robert E. Lee

Robert E. Lee

General Lee fought for his state. The following quote sets the record straight on the slavery issue. “So far from engaging in a war to perpetuate slavery, I am rejoiced that Slavery is abolished. I believe it will be greatly for the interest of the South. So fully am I satisfied of this that I would have cheerfully lost all that I have lost by the war, and have suffered all that I have suffered to have this object attained.”

Ulysses S. Grant

Ulysses S Grant

Remembered as the General who finally turned the tide for the bluecoats in America’s epic civil war, Grant boiled his success down to a concise formula. “The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on.” That said, he was by no means a warmonger. Said he of war, “Although a soldier by profession, I have never felt any sort of fondness for war, and I have never advocated it, except as a means of peace.”

“Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”

Our first President’s view about what was to become the 2nd amendment to the Constitution–“Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.”

Barbara Bush

Barbara Bush

A first lady with wit and wisdom: “Somewhere out in this audience may even be someone who will one day follow my footsteps, and preside over the White House as the president’s spouse. I wish him well!”

Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt

Teddy Roosevelt

“Speak Softly and carrry a Big Stick” Arguably the greatest advocate for the Environment who has ever lived in the White House, the President was tough on Wall Street and the “robber barons”, but a fiscal hawk and made no bones about America’s role in its sphere of influence

Father George Rutler

“Unspoken is the effect of Islamic immigration to fill the vacancies and replace European civilization. What is chillingly unreal…is…those eugenic policies that brought on the catastrophe. Our own nation is on the edge of entering the same illusory world of a bright future without obedience to the facts of life.”

General Anthony McAuliffe

General Anthony Mcauliffe

General McAuliffe was one of our stalwart WWII leaders. His men found themselves outmanned and outgunned in Belgium’s Ardennes Forest. The Germans were on a roll. They offered surrender terms to General McAuliffe, who responded with a one word reply–“NUTS!” One can only imagine the German command’s struggle to interpret that one. General McAuliffe represented the very best of American ingenuity and fighting spirit. So too did the thousands of troops under his command, who prevailed that very cold winter against all odds. You would recognize this fight by its famous name–The Battle of the Bulge

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson

While begging to differ with George Washington on virtually every issue, (their disagreements on Federal versus state rights were the stuff of legend, and began a healthy democratic debate which lasts to this day) on the firearms discussion, they were kindred spirits. “For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security.”
