Ben A. Guill is a Founder and Managing Partner of White Deer Energy, a middle market, energy-focused private equity firm. White Deer manages an $823 million fund.
Before forming White Deer, Mr. Guill served as President of First Reserve Corporation, the oldest and largest energy-focused private equity firm, from 1998-2007. He managed First Reserve’s Houston office, focusing on deal origination, investment analysis, negotiation of acquisitions and management of portfolio companies.
Prior to 1998, Mr. Guill was Co-Head of Investment Banking at Simmons & Company International, a leading specialized investment bank serving the energy industry. Mr. Guill joined Simmons in 1980 and served 19 years in corporate finance, working primarily on mergers and acquisitions, financings and corporate restructuring. Prior to his service with Simmons, Mr. Guill was an Associate at Blyth Eastman Dillon.
Mr. Guill is a Director of National Oilwell Varco, Inc. (NYSE:NOV). Mr. Guill serves on the Board of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and of Saint Albans School in Washington, D.C. Mr. Guill holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton Business School and a BA in English from Princeton University.
